The Underwater Explosion Analysis Module
SURMA UNDEX is a very fast and automized physics based vulnerability assessment tool, which takes into account the hull plating damage from the shock wave, the global kickoff velocity of the ship hull, and whipping response to gas bubble pulsation.
The hull plating damage is assessed using an advanced time-domain based SDOF model, taking into account the initial shock wave, and local and bulk cavitation.

The analysis for the kickoff velocity and whipping response utilizes a global beam model, which is automatically created within a few minutes. The analysis time for a single explosion is counted in seconds, allowing the designer to perform quick threat scenario assessments for hundreds, or thousands of explosions, in less than an hour.
